Spirituality and Healing Touch
One of the greatest challenges of the spiritual life is cultivating forgiveness.  Yet spiritual teachers through the ages have emphasized the importance of learning to forgive both self and others.  Forgiveness is important because when we are able to forgive we begin to deepen our capacity for compassion.  Harboring insults and injuries, whether large or small, tends to narrow our focus to what has been done to us and how we can protect ourselves.  The more we hold on to wounds, the more narrow our focus and the more we define ourselves by these wounds.  In addition, we become better at holding on.  And this holding on is in direct contrast with the teachings of spiritual teachers, such as Meister Eckhart and John of the Cross, whose constant refrain is of letting go.  Healing Touch is a spiritual experience that allows us to begin the process of letting go on a deeper level.

We are integrated beings composed of body, mind and spirit.  What happens to us on one level affects us on all levels.  Our emotions not only influence the way our body feels, and vice versa, but physical ailments are often understood on a deeper level as manifestations of spiritual pain.  Healing Touch is useful in that it helps to clear and balance the energy field.  The fewer blocks in the system, the more freely energy flows. The more freely energy flows, the better the system can self-regulate.  This results in clarity of purpose and the ability to live life more fully.  As a transformative experience, Healing Touch leads to a deeper letting go which in turn leads to the ability to live more compassionately.
